About the Project
Tom Sumter’s 2023 project in Bull Shoals, Arkansas, has transformed a simple backyard into a captivating oasis. This custom-built structure is crafted from a variety of rough cut lumber and first cuts, highlighting the raw beauty and unique character of the materials. It features robust 6” x 6” posts that provide a sturdy framework, complemented by live edge slabs that offer a natural and organic feel to the design.
The use of live edge slabs not only enhances the visual appeal but also integrates the landscape into the structure, blurring the lines between man-made and natural.
