About the Project
Designed and built by Rex and Jessica Starkey in 2023, this custom porch gazebo in Buffalo, Missouri is a standout example of rustic design with modern execution. The ceiling features ¾-inch Eastern Red Cedar Tongue & Groove, creating a smooth, cohesive surface that’s as durable as it is beautiful.
To enhance and protect the wood, the entire structure was finished withTimberPro UV Madrone stain, deepening the cedar’s natural tones while shielding it from sun and moisture.
The gazebo is supported by 6×6 rough cut cedar posts and beams, showcasing the strength and organic texture of the lumber. Its open-air layout invites natural light and fresh breezes, making it the perfect space for relaxing, entertaining, or enjoying quiet moments outdoors.
Blending timeless materials with skilled craftsmanship, this project highlights how cedar can transform a simple outdoor structure into a functional and inviting retreat.
